Day 3 – Erasmus Tenerife Trip March 2024

Today. we returned to our partner school for our second day of collaborative activities with our Spanish peers. Pupils couldn’t wait to spend time with their new friends. Our focus today was using ICT skills to present our work on El Teide and Tenerife coupled with our Spanish speaking skills. Using a green screen, pupils practised and delivered their presentations, which we will put together as part of our final outcomes to show what we have achieved as part of the study visit. Everyone enjoyed interviewing their peers in Spanish and learning interesting facts about their new friends. It has been amazing to see how well our pupils communicate with one another and use the technology to record their interactions. We had…

Everyone enjoyed interviewing their peers in Spanish and learning interesting facts about their new friends. It has been amazing to see how well our pupils communicate with one another and use the technology to record their interactions. We had a celebratory lunch of traditional Spanish paella, which the children devoured! As a thank you for all their hard work and hospitality, pupils wrote thank you cards to the pupils and presented gifts to the teachers. Then it was time to go. We were sad to say goodbye, but we have already made plans to keep in contact through future learning activities when we get back to London.  On our return from school, we took a trip down to the centre of Puerto de la Cruz to see the local sights and do some well-anticipated souvenir shopping for our family and friends. Pupils spent the end of the day making thoughtful observations about life in Tenerife in their Spanish diaries during some well-earned down time. The next adventure will be our visit to El Teide national park tomorrow. We can’t wait to finally see a real volcano!
