Day 5 – Erasmus Tenerife Trip March 2024

Today our pupils had a well-deserved day at Playa de Las Americas (Las Americas beach) where we were welcomed by a fabulous Viking Boat docked at its port. During our trip by couch to the south of the island, we were surprised by the rain. Children learnt how microclimates directly influence the island’s landscapes. In the north, green colours predominate thanks to the lush mountains. On the contrary, in the south the landscapes are more arid and we all got to know that it snowed in El Teide volcano last night! Pupils enjoyed their time in the beach, skipping waves, playing with the sand and sunbathing with their new friends. After our picnic lunch, we got to expend our last Euros in souvenirs.  Bracelets, mini balls and lagarto toys (toy lizards) were the most popular. After that, it was the time for the most expected treat from the trip, el delicioso helado! (the delicious ice-cream). We have now all packed and ready to back to the UK with our suitcases full of wonderful experiences, knowledge, new skills learnt and memories of friends and a different culture. Hasta mañana! (see you tomorrow).
